Our Āchāryas have drawn a sharp and essential distinction: there is a vast difference between 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 (𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘮ā𝘵𝘳𝘢) and 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 (𝘝𝘢𝘪𝘬𝘶ṇṭ𝘩𝘢/𝘎𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘬𝘢-𝘯ā𝘮). The physical vibration produced by the tongue is not, in itself, the Holy Name. The pure Name descends—it is 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐝, not manufactured.
